Lethe

Producer. Narrative short. Released 2014.

Lēthē begins with a fundamental question about the connectedness of memory and identity: what does the prospect of memory erasure entail for our continued identity and notion of self? Chloe lives in a near future where this therapeutic dilemma is real, tangible, and also readily available. Her trial with a memory-erasing drug as a means of treating the effects of a past trauma serves as a case study with which to consider the moral and conceptual implications of resorting to such drastic measures.
